CRUISERS


Cruisers have two group rides: Regular and Long. Regular rides are 15 – 20 miles and Long rides are 35 – 45 miles (sometimes longer).

Peg Demery ride leader – rides longer rides at a faster pace (average speeds 12-16 mph) with plenty of adventure and safe routes with rest stops halfway. Join us for lunch after the Saturday rides and coffee / tea after Wednesday rides.

All Saturday rides start at 8:30 a.m. unless posted otherwise. Departing from OCRR (Restaurant Row – San Marcos) 1020 W San Marcos Blvd., San Marcos, CA  92078 behind Ten Twenty Prime unless noted on the NCCC forum or Listed Rides.

Note: All riders are expected to follow the NCCC Rules of Etiquette on all Cruiser rides. Also of interest is this article on Info for Group Riding. Helmets are required on all rides. Mountain bicycles are not recommended for these road surface rides.

Please take note of route mileage and know your limits… These are No Drop Rides, but if you are unable to complete the ride, you will have to plan for someone to pick you up at your location.

Wednesday Rides
Special Event: Wednesday August 23. Cruiser Summer Ride with lunch. A ride planned by Dana from her home, followed by lunch, swim and fun. 
Plan to bring a dish - salad ​​or dessert​, ​beer , wine.​
Sandwiches provided.
Bring your swim suit and towel

Start: 3204 Sitio Montecillo, Carlsbad at 8.30 am. This is in a gated community; Dana will provide you the gate code on receipt of your RSVP.

August 5 - Carlsbad lagoon, Aviara, Lake San Marcos (40 mi, 2900', route map)
We climb a bit through San Marcos side streets to Lionshead then roll mostly downhill to Carlsbad Village and south along the coast. Route can be short cut back at mile 20.3 Cannon Rd., mile 25, mile 29.3 El Fuerte, and mile 33.4 Viewpoint Dr. We climb back through Aviara, Bressi Ranch and Lake San Marcos.

August 12 - Linda Vista to Carlsbad to Manchester (39 mi, 2300', route map)
Downhill to Agua Hedionda lagoon then south along the coast to Manchester back up through Encinitas and Rancho Santa Fe Rd. and Lake San Marcos. short cuts at the break mile 17 Poinsettia, mile 21.3 Leucadia Blvd.

August 19 - TBD

August 26 - Oceanside Harbor back through Aviara (40 mi, 2400', route map)
Downhill to the coast at Cannon up to Oceanside harbor back to Cannon a loop through Aviara to Bressi Ranch and a climb to Rancho Santa Fe Rd. Short cuts at mile 27.5 and mile 34.2 Palomar Airport Rd. and 39.4 White sands.
