The North County Cycle Club is based in the city of San Marcos in northern San Diego county. The Club has three groups which suit a wide range of bicycle riders: the Roadies for road riding, Team Spokey Dokes (TSD) for mountain biking and the Cruisers for relaxed riding. So, whether you ride just to maintain your health or you want to hammer, we have a group and a ride to meet your needs. Follow the link to each group for ride information and schedules.

The Epitome of a Pilgrimage
We departed Lisboa, Portugal on June 2. Malena Serrato, Letitia Sokoll, Ursula Misaraca, Pauline Stehley and myself, Dolores Wells on mountain bikes that weighed somewhere between 50 to 500 pounds. It was downhill all the way out of Lisboa on cobblestone roads to the river. We had bike paths past the Oceanario and were literally on The Way.

Bicycle Traffic Skills Classes 2014
The Oceanside Bicycle Traffic Skills Classes (known as Urban Bicycling, Traffic Skills 101, Road One, etc.) have been set for 2014. Do you know and understand the law as it applies to cyclists? Do you feel uncomfortable riding with automobiles? Do you know what the greatest hazards are to cycling on the roads? No, it is not being hit from behind. Do you ride close to cars in the door zone? Do you stop at an intersection in the bike lane? Do you move through the intersection to the right edge of the road?. Are you a cycling advocate? If your answer is yes to any of these questions.. or other questions we haven't yet asked, you can benefit from this FREE course by a LAB (League of American Bicyclists) certified instructor and record holder and winner of Race Across America, Pete Penseyres in Oceanside. No matter what your experience level is, you are guaranteed to learn some new things (and reinforce some old things, hopefully). You'll learn some new things in the Road Session and have a blast (a must as you'll be missing the NCCC Sat ride). For more details on registering and testimonials, please jump to this NCCC Forum post.
From NCCC President Peg Demery.
